About Us
Hi everyone! Welcome to the Western Team Home Page. We are a fun group of students, all passionate about horses and showing. Many of our riders have had show experience in the past, but we are very diverse! We have had members who have never shown in their lives, to riders who have shown at the National level. We compete in Western Horsemanship, Ranch Riding, and Reining against teams from Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina through the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA). Spring 2024
This semester, the University of Central Florida hosted three regular season IHSA shows, as well as regionals over the course of two weekends. We were High Point team for one show, Reserve High Point team for one show, and we ended up as overall High Point Team of the Region, qualifying us for Semi-Finals in Findlay, Ohio. Hannah Postlewait ended up 3rd overall High Point Rider of the Region, Kayleigh Fountain was 8th overall, and Karina Vestergaard was 10th. We also had individual riders qualify for the IHSA Western Semi-Finals:
